S.O.C.C.O. History

It all started in 1967…

Originally incorporated in 1967, our organization was founded to aid and advocate for elderly, mentally ill, and developmentally disabled individuals residing in Residential Care Facilities in California.

It is the Care Professionals, not the law makers in Sacramento, who best understand the resources needed to enable these individuals to reach their highest potential. We also know that in order to be heard, we must bring Care Professionals across California together in one united voice.

Today our membership spans across the care industry, providing programs including, residential, day, independent living, and educational, to name a few. We encourage anyone who is involved with the care of dependent individuals to join us.
